Heading dog and woman sitting on the grass in Auckland home

Meet your sitter

Shannon

Hi, I’m Shannon, founder of SitStay and a passionate animal lover with a loving approach to pet care. I offer trusted in-home pet sitting and house sitting services across South Auckland. I’ve completed Basic Pet First Aid, so your pets are always in safe hands and I’m part of the PSNZ (Pet Sitting NZ) association which holds the highest standards of pet sitting in New Zealand.

My own fur babies – Violet, a playful 5-year-old heading dog, and Bonnie, a sweet 15-year-old tabby, were both rescues. They now enjoy a life full of love, enrichment, and adventure, and they’re the heart behind why I do what I do.

Animal welfare is deeply rooted in my values and I’m committed to providing care that not only keeps your pets happy and safe at home but also contributes to the animal welfare community. Through SitStay, I support rehoming, desexing, and vaccination efforts, and proudly donate 100% of our profits to local animal rescue organisations.

I understand the trust it takes to let someone into your home and care for your pets and I don’t take that lightly. Whether I’m feeding your cat, spending the day, or staying overnight, I treat your pets as if they are my own, always prioritising their wellbeing, comfort, and routine.
